About the job

As a Software Engineer joining the Data & Analytics (D&A) team you will be working in one of our most specialised product teams, helping us to build, grow, and enhance our industry first Attention analytics and optimisation products.

The D&A team's focus is on developing data pipelines, AI capabilities and APIs that are robust and scalable. We're highly motivated and thrive on making sense of complex problem domains and finding creative ways to deliver on our ambitious product roadmap.

On a day to day basis you will be involved in developing and maintaining systems that measure, collect and process millions of events every hour. A significant part of that software includes backend microservices that power our data pipeline, prediction models and analytics. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a charismatic and talented group of engineers, designers and UX specialists that

What we're looking for

  • Has a mindset for developing backend services that are performant, reliable and scalable
  • Has the ability to identify and address scalability issues within a microservice architecture
  • Shows willingness to adapt by using the most suitable language and/or cloud product available
  • Strongly values analysing raw data to produce useful insights to drive decision making
  • Appreciates analytical and uncharted technological challenges
  • Good understanding of the browser web APIs and dealing with browser limitations
  • Takes ownership of problems and demonstrates initiative and autonomy
  • Loves to produce readable, testable and maintainable code
  • Can communicate effectively with product owners and UX designers to ensure smooth handovers
  • Proactively works to assist team members
  • Wants to contribute to a company culture of respect, communication and shared success
  • Willingly participates in the design and implementation of team coordination activities like reviews and retrospectives
  • Has a strong understanding of developing applications using Node.js
  • Experience working with Python
  • Has an understanding of React SPA application and state management

Nice to have

  • Experience working on a high volume real-time data pipeline
  • Experience working with data warehousing tools like BigQuery
  • Exposure to building applications that have utilised ML models
